Germany Dortmund In April the Strathclyde Chamber Choir visited the Dortmund area. We did a total of four concerts during the week we were there, but managed to fit in a lot of sightseeing too. We stayed just out of Dortmund. On our first full day we had a tour of Dortmund and this view is from the top of a hill which overlooks the city. The statue is of Kaiser Wilhelm.

Koln Koln

On our Second day in Germany we had a day trip to Koln. On the right you can see the MartinWinkler square, and on the left- the famous Koln Cathedral. Unfortunately it was a rather wet and cold day, so it wasn't awfully pleasant- we could have done with a few less hours there!

Choir

On Thursday morning we got to do a tour of the Dab brewery. Pretty interesting even for someone who doesn't like beer. Anyhow- there was compulsary picture taking afterwards- in this photo you can see all but one or two members of the choir. That evening we had our first concert which seemed to go over quite well.

Munster

On Friday we started with a trip to Munster, which is a truly delightful town. This statue is in the Munster dom. There is also the oldest working astronomical clock. Munster is also known for being the place of the Freedom Hall, where Spain and the Netherlands settled their differences in 1649. In the afternoon we went to Ludinghause and once again gave a concert.
